It’s a structured, season-based system that rewards real activity with tangible progression, competitive leaderboards, and — most importantly — escalating rewards tied to the growing Ink ecosystem (Kraken’s own Ethereum Layer-2 chain).

What Are Ink Points and Why Do They Matter for Pro Users?

In simple terms: Ink Points are how Kraken Pro recognizes and rewards its most active traders.

The more you use Kraken Pro, the more points you earn. The more points you earn, the higher your level climbs. And the higher your level, the greater your rewards become.

This is a true loyalty program built for Pro users who show up consistently — whether you’re executing trades, holding assets long-term, staking for yields, or exploring the platform’s features. API activity does not count toward points, keeping the focus on genuine human-driven engagement.

Points are calculated automatically every Monday based on the previous week’s activity and added to your balance. Lifetime points never reset, even though seasonal points do (more on that below).

How to Earn Ink Points – The Core Activities

You earn points through four main categories of activity on Kraken Pro:

• Trading – Spot, futures, margin — every trade counts.
• Holding assets – Simply keeping balances on the platform contributes.
• Staking – Participating in Kraken’s staking programs adds to your score.

Weekly Boosts – Extra Points for Staying Sharp

• Multiplier boosts – Multiply the points you’d normally earn from eligible actions.
• Flat point boosts – Award bonus points for activities that normally don’t earn anything.

You can check the dedicated Boosts tab in your Kraken Pro account to see what’s active and when each boost expires. These weekly incentives give Pro users a fresh reason to stay engaged and optimize their activity.

Seasons, Levels, and the Leaderboard

Ink Points runs on 4-week seasons. At the end of each season:

• Your seasonal points are tallied.
• Your level for the next season is determined.
• A new season begins immediately.

There are six levels total:

• Levels 1–5 are purely points-based. The more you earn in a season, the higher you climb.
• Level 6 (VIP) is the elite tier. It has a points threshold but is invite-only. Existing Kraken VIP clients are automatically recognized, and the VIP team reaches out directly to qualified traders.

Important note: Levels can go up or down — each season is evaluated independently.

Levels become visible starting May 4, 2026.

The leaderboard also launches on May 4. It ranks users by points earned in the current season — but here’s the smart twist: you only compete against other users in your exact level. No fighting the whales if you’re just starting out. VIP users don’t appear on a standard leaderboard, as it’s not a competitive tier.
